A Paris commercial court has approved the takeover of French sportswear maker Le Coq Sportif by Franco-Swiss entrepreneur Dan Mamane, rejecting a rival bid backed by telecoms billionaire Xavier Niel and Olympic champion Teddy Riner.
Le Coq Sportif, which outfits the French national teams and employs about 300 people, was placed in receivership in November 2024 after a sharp deterioration in cash flow. The court said Mamane’s proposal offered the most credible plan to safeguard jobs and relaunch production.
Mamane said he would introduce a "complete range" designed by experienced industry professionals and invest in the company’s historic site in Romilly-sur-Seine, Aube. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
