Baloch Liberation Army Hijacks Jaffar Express in Bolan District, Kills 6 Military Personnel, Holds Over 180 Hostages

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for hijacking the Jaffar Express train in Pakistan's Balochistan province, holding over 180 passengers hostage, including security forces. The attack was executed by the BLA's Majeed Brigade, STOS, and Fateh Squad units, who stopped the train in a tunnel in the Bolan district as it traveled from Quetta to Peshawar. The BLA stated that they had killed 6 military personnel and shot down a drone during the operation, while releasing women, children, and Baloch passengers. The militants have warned that any military intervention to rescue the hostages would result in their execution. The Balochistan government has declared an emergency at local hospitals and dispatched ambulances and security forces to the scene. The train, which resumed operations recently after a suspension due to security concerns, had around 500 passengers on board at the time of the attack.
