Washington, DC experienced its hottest day of the year so far with temperatures reaching 100 degrees. Dulles Airport set a new daily high temperature record of 100 degrees, breaking the previous record of 99 degrees. BWI also set a new record of 101 degrees. Heat indexes were in the low 100s, with the heatwave expected to continue.

At 10am, DC is already at 89 degrees. For those keeping track, that’s 4 degrees *warmer* than yesterday at this time. Although we’ll probably see more afternoon clouds (and a storm chance) than yesterday. Heat index is already at 95. Yikes!
