President Joe Biden, in his final days in office, firmly rejected the notion of pardoning himself during a press conference at the White House. When asked by a reporter if he had ruled out a pardon for himself or any other members of his family, Biden expressed disbelief at the question, stating, 'For myself? What would I pardon myself for? No, I have no contemplation of pardoning myself for anything. I didn’t do anything wrong.' This statement comes amidst ongoing investigations by Congressional Republicans into allegations of wrongdoing, though no evidence has been produced against the president himself. Biden did, however, previously pardon his son, Hunter Biden, for federal crimes committed between 2014 and 2024.
