Sudan Accuses UAE of May 4 Drone Attacks on Port Sudan, Failed Assassination Attempt on President Burhan, Amid Cholera Outbreak

Sudan has accused the United Arab Emirates of carrying out drone attacks on Port Sudan on May 4, including an alleged assassination attempt on Sudanese President Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, which reportedly failed. These attacks have severely disrupted essential services in the capital and surrounding areas, cutting off electricity and water supplies. As a result, Sudan is experiencing a widespread cholera outbreak, with over 2,300 cases reported in the past three weeks, 90% of which are concentrated in Khartoum and nearby regions. The disruption of utilities has forced residents to consume contaminated water, exacerbating the public health crisis.
