EA has confirmed that there will be no development of The Sims 5, instead focusing on updating and supporting The Sims 4. Additionally, EA is working on multiple new projects including Project Rene, My Sims, and The Sims Project Stories, all of which will be connected through 'The Sims Hub.' The company also announced a playtest for a multiplayer mode. Furthermore, EA has announced a movie adaptation of The Sims franchise, which will be produced by Margot Robbie's production company, LuckyChap, and directed by Kate Herron. The script will be co-written by Herron and Briony Redman. The film will be developed in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and will be available on Amazon Prime. It aims to have a significant impact similar to the Barbie movie.
