A wildfire named the Oak Grove Fire has erupted in southern Utah near Leeds, specifically 1.5 miles east of the Oak Grove Campground on the Dixie National Forest. Initially covering an area of approximately 5 acres, the fire expanded to 22 acres and is now 50% contained. The cause has been identified as a UTV that caught fire and spread to the surrounding wildland vegetation. Emergency response teams, including six engines, two squads, and the Cedar City Hotshots, were promptly dispatched to the scene, with law enforcement also present. A helicopter and a hotshot crew are currently managing the situation, with minimal fire activity reported overnight.
