Tobias Braaten, a 25-year-old hiker from Washington, who went missing after setting out on an overnight hiking trip on the Fernwood Trail in Davis County near Layton, has been found safe. The Davis County Sheriff's Search and Rescue teams, along with volunteers, launched a search operation after he was reported overdue on Friday evening. Braaten was located three canyons away from the intended trailhead, having taken a wrong turn. He was found in good spirits, with minor scratches, and was provided food and a means to contact his family.

Tobias has been found safe. He has a few scratches and was very hungry and happy to accept a sandwich and a phone to call family, but otherwise in good spirits. Tobias took a wrong turn and found himself three canyons away from the Fernwood Trailhead. We appreciate all the help!
