In a tragic incident at Settlement Canyon Reservoir in Tooele County, Utah, a 20-year-old Taylorsville resident and new Salt Lake County deputy named Emaloni Takitoa Lutui lost his life after falling through the ice while attempting to save a woman on Monday night. The woman was subsequently taken to the hospital for cold exposure. Search and rescue crews worked into the night and successfully recovered Lutui's body from the cold waters. This event marks the second such incident within a year at the same reservoir.
