Over 150 Former Judges Condemn Trump Administration’s Arrest of Judge Hannah Dugan, Urge DOJ Probe Amid Obstruction Allegations

More than 150 former federal and state judges have publicly condemned the Trump administration's arrest of Wisconsin judge Hannah Dugan, describing it as an attempt to intimidate the judiciary. In a letter addressed to Attorney General Pam Bondi, the retired judges unequivocally rejected what they termed an assault on judicial independence. The arrest relates to accusations against Dugan for allegedly obstructing the detention of an immigrant. Concurrently, Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dick Durbin has called on the Department of Justice and FBI to investigate what he described as ongoing and increasing threats to the federal judiciary, including threats against judges and their families. Durbin's letter was directed to DOJ officials Kash Patel and Pam Bondi.
