Trump to Attend Tariff Talks as Japan Seeks Full Removal of U.S. Duties

Japan's chief trade negotiator, Ryosei Akazawa, arrived in Washington on Wednesday to begin tariff negotiations with the United States aimed at removing duties imposed by President Donald Trump. The talks, scheduled to commence today, are expected to address trade barriers and seek mutual concessions. President Trump announced he will personally attend the meeting alongside Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. "I will attend the meeting, along with Treasury & Commerce Secretaries. Hopefully something can be worked out which is good (GREAT!) for Japan and the USA!" Trump stated on his social media platform.
