Israeli Airstrikes Destroy Yemen's Sanaa Airport, Hit Power Stations and Cement Factory; Flights Suspended Amid Trump-Brokered Ceasefire

The Israeli military has conducted extensive airstrikes on Yemen, targeting the Houthi-controlled Sanaa International Airport, which has been completely destroyed, according to Israeli and Yemeni sources. The strikes were in retaliation for a Houthi missile attack on Israel's Ben Gurion Airport the previous day.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the airstrikes also hit power stations and a cement factory in Sanaa, which the IDF claims are used by the Houthis for military purposes. The IDF stated that the operation was carried out to disable key Houthi infrastructure used for weapons shipments and terrorist activities. Three planes were destroyed in the attack, and the strikes resulted in at least 7 people killed and 74 injured.

Footage and reports from the scene show significant damage to the airport, with civilian aircraft destroyed and the runway severely compromised. The strikes have led to the suspension of all flights to and from Sanaa International Airport until further notice. Additionally, the Hodeida port was hit during the operation. Following the strikes, President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement with the Houthis, mediated by Oman.
