Despite the court orders, the Trump administration has not taken any action to bring Abrego Garcia back, with a judge stating that 'nothing has been done' to comply with the orders. The administration claims it lacks the authority to forcibly return him from El Salvador, a stance that has led to tensions with the judiciary. El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele, during a White House visit, stated he does not have the power to return Abrego Garcia to the U.S., further complicating the situation. The Trump administration insists that Abrego Garcia is a member of the MS-13 gang, a claim denied by his lawyers, despite Abrego Garcia having no criminal record in the U.S. or El Salvador. He was deported along with 250 alleged gang members.
