Senate Judiciary Demands Biden WH Communications on Trump Mar-a-Lago Probe Operation Arctic Frost; Judicial Watch Sues IRS Over January 6 Targeting

Senate Judiciary Republicans have formally requested the National Archives to release all communications between the Biden White House, the FBI, and the Department of Justice related to the investigation into former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago property, known as Operation Arctic Frost. The six-page request specifically names White House counsel Dana Remus, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, National Archives officials David Ferriero and Debra Wall, and prosecutors including Special Counsel Jack Smith. GOP senators, including Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley, argue the investigation was politically motivated and aimed at influencing the 2024 presidential election. Separately, Judicial Watch has filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service seeking records on potential improper targeting of January 6, 2021, Capitol protesters and their supporters. Concerns have been raised that the IRS may have engaged in politically motivated actions against these individuals.
