Miller urged these governors to pick up the phone and work with federal authorities to build infrastructure within their states aimed at detaining undocumented immigrants and criminals. The initiative follows the opening of Florida's Alligator Alcatraz, a facility designed for immigration enforcement. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also encouraged other red states to follow Florida's example in addressing immigration enforcement challenges.
