Trump Administration to End Harvard Contracts, Cut CCAMPIS and Head Start Funding, Target DEI, Dismantle Affirmative Action

The Trump administration plans to terminate the federal government's remaining contracts with Harvard University, according to a letter scheduled to be sent to federal agencies on May 27, 2025. Among these is the planned elimination of the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program, which provides vital childcare support to lower-income parenting students. Additionally, the Department of Justice under the Trump administration has announced intentions to use the False Claims Act to target diversity and equity initiatives and has filed a statement supporting state attorneys general in actions against asset managers accused of antitrust violations related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. The administration is also moving to dismantle one of the federal government's largest affirmative action programs, siding with two White-owned contracting businesses that challenged its constitutionality.
