State officials on Sunday confirmed at least 59 fatalities and reported that 11 girls from Camp Mystic remained missing. Authorities said more than 8,000 people have been rescued since the flooding began.

Local officials and relief organisations said the NFL money will help finance temporary shelter, food, medical care and eventual rebuilding. Additional charities, including the Community Foundation of Texas Hill Country and World Central Kitchen, have launched parallel drives for donations and volunteers as the region braces for a prolonged recovery.
