Five Survive Beechcraft Bonanza Crash in Lancaster County, Treated at Burn Center

A single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza airplane carrying five people crashed and burst into flames in the parking lot of the Brethren Village retirement community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, shortly after taking off from Lancaster Airport. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Sunday, with the plane narrowly missing a three-story building at the retirement community in Manheim Township. The crash damaged 12 parked cars. All five individuals on board survived the crash and were transported to local hospitals. Three of the victims were sent to the Lehigh Valley Health Network's burn center for treatment, while the other two were treated and released from Lancaster General Hospital later that evening. No one on the ground was injured. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) classified the crash as an accident and confirmed that the aircraft, registered to Jam Zoom Yayos LLC, was destroyed. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash alongside the FAA. Preliminary reports indicate that the pilot had reported an open door on the aircraft and requested to return for a landing before the crash. The plane was en route to Springfield, Ohio.
