The lawsuit was filed on behalf of students from Florida, Texas, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Connecticut. Many of the former students relocated to Arizona and took out loans with the expectation of completing a one-year program leading to gainful employment. The lawsuit details individual hardships, including one student selling his home and another leaving a job of 21 years to attend the academy.
