The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) aircraft carrier strike group, led by the USS Gerald R. Ford, has had its deployment extended in the Eastern Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf. The decision was made by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, and the US Navy has released multiple photos showcasing flight operations and air activities, including F/A-18E Super Hornets, F-16s, MH-60R helicopters, and various other aircraft on the carriers USS Gerald R. Ford and USS Stethem. The photos depict the presence of 33x Hornets, 2x Hawkeyes, and 6x Seahawks on the deck of the USS Gerald R. Ford.
