Ukraine plans to enhance its military capabilities by incorporating long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of reaching targets as far as the Urals and the Arctic, according to a BILD source. These UAVs, expected to be operational this year, will have a range of up to 2,000 kilometers, potentially extending to 2,500 kilometers. This development is seen as a strategic move to compensate for the shortage of medium- and long-range missiles within the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Notably, the Ukrainian UJ-22 UAV was recently used to attack targets in Tatarstan, marking the first time Ukrainian forces have struck locations 1,300 km from the frontline. By the end of the year, 10 Ukrainian manufacturers are expected to supply the armed forces with these drones, putting approximately 80 Russian military bases within reach, including those in the Murmansk region like the Olenya airfield which houses strategic Tupolev bombers.
