Ukraine Agrees to 30-Day Ceasefire After Jeddah Talks, U.S. Resumes Military Aid

Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire proposal with Russia, put forward by the United States. The agreement was reached during eight hours of high-level talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, met with Ukrainian representatives. As part of the agreement, the United States will immediately resume military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, which had been paused after a previous dispute between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The ceasefire is conditional on Russia's acceptance and implementation. The ceasefire proposal covers all combat zones, including air, sea, and land, and could be extended by mutual agreement. The U.S. and Ukraine also agreed to initiate negotiations for a long-term peace agreement and to finalize a deal on Ukraine's critical mineral resources. Rubio stated that the 'ball is now in Russia's court' to agree to the terms.
