A Ukrainian Su-25 close air support aircraft was destroyed by a Russian Lancet loitering munition at the airfield of Kryvyi Rih. This is the second aircraft known to be targeted on this airfield by Russian loitering munitions. Another incident involved a Russian Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jet being shot down near Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The crash site has been identified and it is believed that the Russian air defense forces shot down their own aircraft in a friendly fire incident. The UK Ministry of Defence has reported that the Russian air defense forces "highly likely" downed their own Su-35 aircraft. The Su-35 is one of Russia's most technologically advanced combat aircraft. The incident has not been officially confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Reports suggest that the Russian air defense forces used the S-300 missile system to shoot down the Su-35. British intelligence has also mentioned this incident in its daily digest. The crashed Su-35 is believed to have been accidentally shot down by Russian air defense.
