Ukraine has been engaged in efforts to repatriate the bodies of prisoners of war (POWs) who, according to Russia, died in the crash of a Russian IL-76 military transport plane on January 24. Despite these efforts, Russia has not responded to Ukraine's appeals. Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Ukrainian State Security Service and spokesman for Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, also noted that the Ukrainian POWs expected to be returned in the planned January 24 exchange, which was canceled due to the crash, were not included in the subsequent exchange that took place on January 31.
