Russia has initiated a comprehensive disinformation campaign targeting Ukraine and its allies, aiming to sow division and influence political outcomes. The campaign involves sending text messages to ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine, urging them to leave the country, and spreading false information through fake online accounts and bots to undermine support for Ukraine-supporting entities, including President Joe Biden and the Democrats ahead of November's election. The operation, which includes a $1.5 billion investment on the Telegram platform alone, seeks to question Ukrainian President Zelensky's actions during a planned mobilization wave and to divide Western allies. Reports indicate that Russian agents distribute 166 million disinformation posts about Ukraine weekly across various social media platforms, including Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Special units have been established to extend these efforts to every EU country with upcoming elections, as highlighted by National Security and Defence Council Secretary Oleksii Danilov.
