Putin Pardons Kemerovo Murderer Involved in Ukraine Invasion; Ukrainian Soldier Sentenced; Man Jailed for Facilitating Attacks; Convicted Murderer of Journalist Receives Pardon

Vladimir Putin has issued a pardon for Vladislav Kanyus, a Kemerovo native sentenced to 17 years for the murder of college student Vera Pekhteleva in 2020. Kanyus was involved in the invasion of Ukraine. Another Ukrainian soldier, Anton Cherednik, was sentenced to 19 years for allegedly killing a civilian. Additionally, a local man facilitating Russian attacks on Kharkiv has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Sergey Khadzhikurbanov, convicted for the murder of Russian opposition journalist Anna Politkovskaya, received a pardon after participating in the 'special military operation' and signing a contract with the Russian defense ministry.
