Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has agreed to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a bilateral meeting 'sometime in the future', potentially the first since the war began. Senator Peter Welch hailed Ukraine's progress in EU accession talks as a 'victory for a united and prosperous Europe' and urged Orbán to abandon his veto on EU aid to Ukraine. Bloomberg reports that the EU may override Hungary's veto on the next vote for a €50 billion aid package to Ukraine, to be discussed 'early next year'. Orbán has previously blocked a $54 billion EU aid package to Kyiv, and in response to Zelensky's invitation, he said, 'I told him that I would be at his disposal.'
