Tsuruya, who holds an undefeated record of 8-0 and is the son of an OG Shooto veteran, defeated his opponent Jiniushiyue by TKO with strikes at 4:59 of Round 1. The event was broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass, and Tsuruya's victory was celebrated as he was welcomed to the UFC.
