On November 30, 1979, Sugar Ray Leonard defeated Wilfred Benitez in Las Vegas to become the new WBC welterweight champion. This victory marked Leonard's first world title. Additionally, on the same day in 1956, Floyd Patterson became the youngest heavyweight champion by defeating Archie Moore in Chicago. Moving to December 1, 2018, the first match of the Wilder vs. Fury trilogy took place, ending in a dramatic draw with Tyson Fury rising off the canvas after a knockdown by Deontay Wilder in the 12th round.
