A Mexican company plans to build a luxury housing, hotel, and restaurants on 218 acres in Hill Country, while a Sports Illustrated-branded resort, 'Major League of Leisure,' is set to be built near the crystal lagoon in Land Tejas' Lago Mar community in Texas City, south of Houston. The resort, to be developed by Lagoon Development and SI Experiences, will consist of 200 rooms and is expected to break ground in 2024. However, the Ann Arbor City Council has expressed opposition to the idea of a Sports Illustrated Resort in their town.
