Zepto, a hyperlocal delivery unicorn, has introduced a platform fee of Rs 2 per order, marking its entry as the first quick-commerce company to implement such a fee, as reported by Goenka_Tushar1 via moneycontrolcom. This move is part of Zepto's efforts to push towards profitability. The platform fee is in addition to handling charges, which range from Rs 5 to Rs 20, and currently applies to a select set of users. Zepto's co-founder Aadit Palicha, in a discussion with ShereenBhan for CNBCYoungTurks, stated that the company does not intend to overcharge customers with this fee.
