Virgin Galactic successfully completed its final spaceflight before a planned two-year pause. The Galactic 07 mission launched from Spaceport America in New Mexico at 08:31 am MT, carrying six humans, including Axiom Space Mission 3 backup astronaut Tuva Atasever of the Turkish Space Agency and three private astronauts. The mission also featured Virgin Galactic's 7th pilot, Jameel Janjua, and marked the company's 7th commercial and 7th research mission. The spacecraft VSS Unity was piloted by Commander Andy Edgell and Pilot CJ Sturckow. The flight reached an apogee of 54.4 miles and achieved a top speed of 2.96 Mach. VSS Unity landed safely back at Spaceport America at 9:41 AM MT, concluding Virgin Galactic's 12th successful spaceflight. The company will now focus on developing its next-generation Delta-class spacecraft.
