Valve is tightening security on its gaming platform, Steam, in the wake of a malware attack that compromised the accounts of numerous game developers. The attackers updated the games with malware, impacting fewer than 100 users. To fortify security, Valve will require developers to register a phone number and undergo SMS verification for game updates or adding new users to their Steamworks account. The company will start notifying customers of these changes from October 17.
