Revolut has expanded its global footprint by securing a banking license in Mexico and receiving in-principle authorization from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to issue prepaid payment instruments (PPI), prepaid cards, and wallets in India. The fintech company, which hired a local CEO in Mexico approximately 3 years ago, had to secure $110 million in starting capital for its operations in the country. These developments are part of Revolut's strategy to build a global business, offering both international and domestic payment solutions on a single platform.
