Intuit, the owner of personal finance app Mint, has announced that it will be shutting down the app on January 1, 2024. Users will be encouraged to switch to Credit Karma, a similar service that Intuit acquired in 2020. Mint, which had 3.6 million monthly active users in 2021, was one of the earliest and most popular personal finance apps. The decision to close Mint has sparked disappointment among users and industry observers.
