Google has officially launched an ARM64 version of Chrome for Windows on ARM, optimized specifically for ARM-based Windows PCs, including those powered by Snapdragon processors. This release, which promises an impressive boost in performance based on recent benchmark tests, comes ahead of Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite processor launch, set to feature in Microsoft's forthcoming Surface devices. The new version of Chrome, in development for seven years, is much faster than the previously used emulated x64 version. Google's move to release a native ARM version of Chrome for Windows is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the performance and efficiency of ARM-powered Windows laptops, particularly with the imminent arrival of Snapdragon X Elite laptops.
