Apple is set to adopt the RCS messaging standard in 2024, which it believes will offer a superior interoperability experience compared to SMS or MMS. However, the tech giant has also stated that it will continue to treat RCS messages differently from iMessages, maintaining that iMessage will remain the most secure messaging experience for Apple users. Concurrently, tech company Nothing is releasing its messaging app, Nothing Chats, supporting both RCS and iMessage, this Friday.
