Apple has announced that its latest iPad Pro and iPad Air models will exclusively support eSIM technology, eliminating the physical SIM card slots in both the UK and US. This shift to eSIM-only devices aligns with the company's strategy as seen in the iPhone 14 and 15 models, although iPhones in the UK still retain nano SIM slots. Despite the removal of the physical SIM slots, the new iPads will continue to support sub-6GHz and C-band 5G technologies. However, the iPad Pro will no longer support mmWave service, which offers faster data speeds.

new iPads are eSIM-only in the UK, as well as the US. iPhones in the UK currently have nano SIM slots. It's **not** because of the shift to thinner iPad Pro designs because the cellular iPad Air models which are thicker are also eSIM-only #AppleEvent
