Apple rejected the HEY Calendar app from the App Store, sparking a dispute with the HEY team. The rejection was based on unclear claims about the app's functionality. The HEY team resubmitted the app, adding a 'spiteful Apple history feature' and Apple eventually approved it. The HEY Calendar is now available for download on all platforms.
It's here! The HEY Calendar is available on all platforms for everyone with a https://t.co/Izp2mLLeUc email address. Existing customers, new customers, all. Apple approved the HEY Calendar!! It's now available for download in the @appstore. Ridiculous it needed this level of awareness/pressure, but I'm so happy for our iOS team to see their work through the weekend pay off in full. Thanks to all who cheered! https://t.co/tPlHbzWY7r

HEY Calendar app for iOS was just resubmitted for approval by @AppStore. Team worked through the weekend to address the bullshit, not-documented-anywhere, not-enforced-with-any-consistency claim that the app "does something", if you don't have an account. https://t.co/DgtfzBXrpx

Stop us if you've heard this before -- Hey Calendar has been rejected from the App Store, despite it clearly being allowed under provisions about apps used to access paid services like Netflix. By @Amber_M_Neely https://t.co/nKADn4v71W
Apple just called to let us know they're rejecting the HEY Calendar app from the App Store (in current form). Same bullying tactics as last time: Push delicate rejections to a call with a first-name-only person who'll softly inform you it's your wallet or your kneecaps.
The new HEY Calendar is wonderful. It’s intuitive and fun, and most importantly, it acknowledges time as the scarce and precious resource it is. Well done, @jasonfried, @dhh & team. https://t.co/ZD4Wgjv1NY
