Tony G Co-Investment Buys US$439,000 in HYPE Tokens, Stock Jumps 742%

Tony G Co-Investment Holdings Ltd., a Toronto-listed investment firm, has acquired 10,387.685 HYPE tokens for roughly US$438,800, becoming the first publicly traded company to add the Hyperliquid exchange’s native asset to its corporate treasury. The purchase was executed through WonderFi Technologies and is part of the company’s stated long-term digital-asset strategy.

The transaction priced HYPE at an average US$42.24, close to the token’s new all-time high of US$43.60. HYPE has climbed about 67% over the past month and more than 20% in the past week, outperforming the broader cryptocurrency market as Bitcoin traded largely flat.

The rally has been underpinned by rapid growth at Hyperliquid, a decentralized perpetual-futures platform that processed US$248 billion in trading volume in May and now supports US$1.89 billion in open interest for HYPE futures. According to project disclosures, 92.78% of protocol revenue is used to repurchase the token, and the Hyperliquid Assistance Fund holds roughly 24.5 million HYPE—valued near US$974 million—further tightening supply.

Investors reacted strongly to the treasury move: Tony G Co-Investment’s shares soared about 742% on Canada’s NEO Exchange following the announcement. Market watchers say the allocation signals growing institutional interest in exchange-native tokens, especially as Hyperliquid explores adding Nasdaq and S&P mini-futures to its product lineup.
