Bitcoin's price reached an all-time high of $111,965 last week, driving increased corporate interest and activity in the cryptocurrency market. The number of publicly listed companies holding Bitcoin has grown from 89 at the start of April to 113, with collective holdings exceeding 800,000 Bitcoin valued at around $88 billion.
Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, remains the largest corporate holder, recently acquiring 4,020 more Bitcoin for approximately $427 million. This brings its total holdings to 580,250 Bitcoin, acquired at a total investment of about $40.6 billion. Arkham Intelligence has traced 400,398 Bitcoin to 491 wallet addresses linked to Strategy, with most assets custodied at Fidelity and some at Coinbase Prime. Strategy's market capitalization stands at $101 billion.
In May, GameStop acquired 4,710 Bitcoin, Metaplanet purchased 3,350 Bitcoin, and KULR Tech added 668 Bitcoin to their holdings. Trump Media confirmed plans to raise $2.5 billion for Bitcoin purchases. Twenty One Capital, created in partnership with Cantor Equity Partners and backed by SoftBank and Tether, is among the firms tapping capital markets to fund large-scale Bitcoin acquisitions.
Shares of companies involved in these acquisition schemes have seen notable increases, including Gryphon Mining, KindlyMD, and Asset Entities. While favorable market conditions are supporting the trend, analysts warn that replicating Strategy's scale may be difficult due to market limitations and the need for sustained investor demand.
