MicroStrategy Buys 1% of Bitcoin Supply, Holds 582,000 BTC Funded by $STRK/$STRF Sales, Premium at 70.49%

MicroStrategy has acquired approximately 1% of the total Bitcoin supply over the past seven months, with its total holdings reaching 582,000 BTC, representing about 30% of the total Bitcoin held by traditional finance entities. On June 6, MicroStrategy announced an upsizing of its Strategy Perpetual Stride Preferred Stock Offering ($STRD) from 2.5, which helped fund a $110 million Bitcoin purchase. The proceeds for this Bitcoin acquisition came entirely from at-the-market sales of $STRK and $STRF stocks, with no sale of MicroStrategy’s own stock ($MSTR) by CEO Michael Saylor. Bill Miller has described MicroStrategy as "Bitcoin on steroids," noting that the company has outperformed Nvidia since adopting its Bitcoin strategy and currently has one of the best technical charts.

Wells Fargo reported that six Bitcoin treasury companies, including MicroStrategy, have the capacity to raise $76 billion to buy more Bitcoin, surpassing the $44.6 billion net inflow from Bitcoin ETFs so far. Daily Bitcoin mining produces about 450 BTC, which is considered irrelevant compared to the demand from entities like MicroStrategy and ETFs. MicroStrategy’s premium held steady at 70.49% over the past week, highlighting strong investor interest. The company’s recent Bitcoin purchase included an additional 1,045 BTC, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to approximately 9.3 trillion yen in value.
