Warriors Lead at Halftime Despite 0 for 5 Three-Pointers, First Time Since 1997 in Playoff Game

The Golden State Warriors failed to make a three-point shot in the first half of a playoff game for the first time in the play-by-play era since 1997. This marks the first time the Warriors have gone without a three-pointer in any half since the second half of Game 2 against the Dallas Mavericks in 2007. They are the third team this postseason to have zero three-pointers in the first half, joining the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the series and the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the first round. No team had recorded zero three-pointers in a first half during the previous six postseasons. Despite this, the Warriors led the game at halftime, a feat not achieved by a team making zero three-pointers in the first half since the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 against the Toronto Raptors in 2017. Additionally, the Warriors were 0 for 5 on three-point attempts in the first half, marking the fewest three-point attempts in a first half by any team this season and the first time the Warriors had no three-pointers by halftime since January 6, 2020, which was 476 games ago. This is only the second time under coach Steve Kerr that the Warriors failed to hit a three-point field goal in the first half of a game.
