Victor Martins Leads F2 Practice in Melbourne Despite Three Red Flags, Sets 1:32.687 Lap Time

The opening practice session of the 2025 Formula 2 season in Melbourne was disrupted by three red flags. The first incident involved Rodin Motorsport's Alexander Dunne, who made contact with the barriers at Turn 11. Subsequent stoppages occurred due to separate incidents involving Campos Racing's Arvid Lindblad and Amaury Cordeel of MP Motorsport, as well as Oliver Goethe of MP Motorsport spinning through the gravel at Turn 10. Despite the interruptions, Victor Martins of ART Grand Prix set the fastest time of the session with a lap of 1:32.687, narrowly ahead of DAMS Lucas Oil's Kush Maini. The session concluded with Martins leading the timesheets, followed by Maini and AIX Racing's Joshua Duerksen. Other notable performances included Roman Stanek of Invicta Racing in fourth, Jak Crawford of DAMS in fifth, and the Hitech TGR duo of Luke Browning and Dino Bganovic. Max Esterson of TRIDENT finished eighth, ahead of PREMA Racing's Sebastián Montoya and Richard Verschoor of MP Motorsport in tenth.
