St. John's suffered a 63-59 exhibition game loss to Division II Pace University. Joel Soriano and Jordan Dingle were absent from the game, with Soriano nursing a calf injury and Dingle's return date uncertain. St. John's struggled with poor shooting, hitting only 25% from the field. Despite the loss, coach Rick Pitino remained relatively unconcerned, stating that he would be worried if the team performed similarly in nine days. Pitino expects Soriano and Cruz Davis to return to practice on Monday.
I know Joel Soriano, Jordan Dingle didn't play, but that doesn't explain D II Pace's 63-59 upset of St. John's in exhibition at Carnesecca over weekend. At least Rick will have his team's full attention.
Exhibition Final: Pace University: 63 St. John's: 59 No Soriano, no Dingle. Maybe the Johnnies aren't back quite yet ...
