Notre Dame secured a commitment from four-star wide receiver Kaydon Finley, the No. 114 prospect in ESPN’s 2026 rankings, who chose the Fighting Irish over his father’s alma mater, Texas. The pledge was announced Friday after Finley completed official visits to Notre Dame, Arizona State, Texas and Texas A&M.

Finley, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound standout at Aledo High School, has collected 148 catches for 2,552 yards and 34 touchdowns in three varsity seasons, helping the program win two Texas state championships. His 2024 junior campaign included 81 receptions for 1,432 yards and 21 touchdowns across nine 100-yard games.

He is the son of former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley, who captured Super Bowl XLV after a collegiate career at Texas. Kaydon Finley becomes the rare Lone Star State recruit to spurn the Longhorns for Notre Dame.

Finley is the 16th ESPN 300 commit in head coach Marcus Freeman’s 2026 class, which ESPN ranks No. 4 nationally. His decision extends Notre Dame’s recent run of high-profile offensive additions alongside quarterback Noah Grubbs, tight end Ian Premer and running backs Javian Osborne and Jonaz Walton.
