Posh Alexander, once the face of St. John's basketball and a fan favorite for his passion and dedication to the game, returned to Carnesecca Arena as a member of Butler's team for game #36 of the college basketball season. Butler coach Thad Matta praised Alexander for being a great teammate. During the game, the former St. John's player received a warm ovation from the near-capacity crowd, acknowledging his contributions to the program. Despite the warm welcome, the current St. John's players, under new coach Rick Pitino, were focused on the game, with one player, DJ, stating, 'all I care about is winning.' Alexander expressed his appreciation for the support and mentioned that his departure from St. John's was amicable, seeking new scenery rather than leaving with bad intentions. In a notable game moment, a timeout was called with 7 seconds left with one team down by 7 points.

My husband looooves his Brussels sprouts 🙄😒 and so once in a while… oven-roasted with cod on a bed of thin-sliced fingerling potatoes, panko-crusted, finished with a lemon beurre noisette sauce. I didn’t happen to have a lemon handy 🤯 so I made do with zested grapefruit! 😋 https://t.co/dPnxzOy0yj
This guy really called a timeout with 7 secs left down 7. I am dead.
Posh Alexander returned home and saw how much things have changed. New St. John’s players, coach and a team that hardly resembled his former one. Alexander received a warm greeting from the Red Storm fans. The Johnnies players weren’t as kind STORY: https://t.co/Apo8LvqPME #sjubb
Posh Alexander: “It felt good just knowing that I still have love around here, just playing at Carnesecca one last time against some of my boys, Rick Pitino. I didn’t leave on no bad intentions or bad blood, I just wanted new scenery.” #sjubb #ButlerWay
DJ: “At the end of the day, all I care about is winning. I was glad (Posh) got an ovation, he was great for this program, but I just wanted to get the win. That’s all that mattered to me.” #sjubb
Posh Alexander received a very warm ovation from the near-capacity crowd here at Carnesecca. Well-deserved from a fan base that, love it or hate it, always shows love for its own. #sjubb #ButlerWay
Very nice hand for Posh Alexander. Good job, #sjubb fans.
For the first time in 2024, we get to do the college basketball again. Game #36, and it’s a home game too as @StJohnsBBall welcomes @ButlerMBB and former Johnny Posh Alexander into Carnesecca. #sjubb #ButlerWay https://t.co/pYXzuECRcC
For three years, Posh Alexander was the face of St. John’s basketball. The Brooklyn kid who played the game like his next meal depended on it, and became an immediate fan favorite. Tuesday, he returns as the enemy, https://t.co/zAFa16fZeG #sjubb
Just spoke to Butler coach Thad Matta. His biggest takeaway on Posh Alexander is just what a great teammate he is. #sjubb
