West Ham United's Saïd Benrahma was sent off after a reaction to a tackle by a Bristol City opponent, causing an uproar among fans, with some demanding he never plays for the club again. The incident has highlighted criticisms of West Ham's transfer strategy, with recent signings such as Danny Ings, labeled a 'panic buy', and Maxwel Cornet, whose signing lacked conviction, being questioned. Manager David Moyes admitted the dismissal made it difficult as the team was already trailing by a goal, and while he questioned the tackle on Benrahma, he conceded there were no grounds for complaint about the red card.
Moyes on Benrahma's dismissal: "It made it much more difficult that’s for sure. We were a goal down already at that point. I’ve had a look at it and I don’t think we can have any complaints. I wasn’t sure about the tackle on him, that might have been questionable." #WHUFC
Ultimately West Ham’s mistakes catching up with them. Ings a panic buy because Scamacca didn’t work out, Benrahma should have gone ages ago, no real conviction about the Cornet signing. Usual front three is brilliant but the squad is carrying too many passengers.

Some of Bristol City’s challenges in both games have been ridiculous. But Benrahma is just so foolish. West Ham really need to move him out.
