Seattle University Law School is facing accusations of hoarding funds donated for the Korematsu Center for Law and Equality. The Korematsu Center, which is set to move to UC Irvine School of Law on July 1, 2024, has not received communication from Seattle University leadership regarding the disputed funds. Karen Korematsu has also not been contacted by the university. The dispute has also been fueled by the recent departure of three faculty members, including Robert Chang, who is associated with the Korematsu Center, as well as Lily Kahng and Gregory Silverman, who retired and received emeriti status. Despite these developments, Seattle University has not officially acknowledged the Korematsu Center's move in its communications.
