Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolay Chub conducted a spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS) on April 25, 2024, as part of the Russian EVA-62 mission. The primary objectives of the spacewalk included deploying a synthetic aperture radar panel that had previously failed to extend, installing new external experiment packages, and retrieving others. The spacewalk officially began with the opening of the Poisk hatch at 10:57am EDT. During the mission, the cosmonauts also installed equipment to study cosmic erosion on the Poisk and Nauka modules. The spacewalk lasted approximately 4 1/2 hours.
